David J. de Young was born in Illinois in 1964. A proud product of the American Midwest, he majored in English at Grinnell College in Iowa, where he was poetry editor of the college’s literary magazine and recipient of the Selden Whitcomb Prize in Poetry. He lived in Wisconsin and Minnesota for 25 years before moving to Finland in 2012, where he now lives with his wife and two daughters.
In Minnesota, de Young was founder and editor of the music and arts web magazine, HowWasTheShow.com where he also wrote reviews of music and theater performances for over 10 years. He founded Nordic Moon Press in 2017. Previously, he served as editor for two books on Runes by fellow Nordic Moon Press author, Kari Tauring.
De Young is the author of one book of poetry, A Flash of Insight and Other Poems, Nordic Moon Press 2017.
